![]() Still, I like the blackness effect more than Gears of War’s gear that shows up or Call of Duty’s redness. This means that if you’re about to die you can see virtually nothing, and the effect can be annoying. When you’re hit the screen gets dark and the more you’re hit, the darker it gets. Well, while Vegas has regenerating health it’s still a hard game, even on the easiest difficulty. ![]() In the past, Rainbow Six games have been incredibly hard and there was no way for you to heal. Rainbow Six: Vegas is still a very ******** game, but if you’re hurt your health will slowly regenerate. ![]() But if you don’t want to, you can order your other squad mate to do the healing while you do the fighting.Īnother big addition to the game is regenerating health. And if one of your squad mates dies, you have the option to heal them. The squad commands don’t end there though, you can also order your squad to move to a fast rope, rappel, defuse a bomb, and more. To “tag” is to basically tell your squad which guys to kill first. A snake cam is a little cam that you can squeeze under the door and from it you can “tag” terrorists. This works well and you can even use a snake cam to see what’s behind the door before you open it. You can order them to frag and clear, breach and clear, or open and clear. If they’re told to move to a door, for example, you have extra options from there. You can tell them to regroup, hold position, or move to a certain position. One of the biggest things with Rainbow Six in the past has been ordering around your squad, and while there’s less of that in Vegas, it’s still a huge part of the game. Your squad will take cover and kill a good amount of terrorists on their own, but you can assist them with it too. The terrorists are smart enough, as is your three-man squad. There are enough missions, guns, and terrorists to keep you busy with the single-player campaign. The cover system is an innovative gameplay mechanic in the game that works suprisingly well for a First-Person Shooter. It also lacks a true ending which is disappointing. It’s a shame that this game has a Tom Clancy’s liscence, because the story would make a terrible book. ![]() But it rarely comes, and you’ll start to stop caring about the shallow story. The intel is great quality and is enjoyable to watch. Usually this intel is coming from a lady that every game seems to need nowadays, (Halo had Cortana, Gears of War had a lady too) but sometimes it will show terrorists killing civilians. This is a great effect that never takes you out of the action. The top-left corner of your screen will stream intel that acts as the games “cutscenes,” only while you watch it you still have control of Logan. Whether you’re deployed in Vegas or in a chopper, you can always at least look around. In Rainbow Six: Vegas, you never lose control of Logan in a cutscene. Most games tell their stories with cutscenes that occur in between sections of the game. The story is told in an interesting way, however. There’s a small side-plot about Logan wanting his men back because they were left in Mexico, but this really goes nowhere. There’s a bit more story than this, but not much. So you go to Las Vegas where most of the rest of the game takes place, and kill terrorists. The majorty of the game takes place in Las Vegas.
